Acivico employees support Birmingham and Solihull Women’s aid

Acivico colleagues have taken the opportunity during the month of January to regift unused Christmas goodies to Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid (BASWA) to support women escaping domestic violence to make a new start early in 2016.

Donations including quality surplus or unwanted items such as clothes, toys, gift sets, toiletries and bedding to the value of over £500 have been packed up and delivered to the city centre offices.

Senior Business Analyst Rav Billan who supported the cause by donating a basket of baby essentials said “This is a really important and special charity and one that I wholeheartedly support – I realised I had a surplus of baby supplies so I put the hamper together help out a Mum in a crisis”.

Tony McCormack from the Commercial team said ‘once I started mentioning the collection to my family  the bags of donations kept on arriving. This charity strikes a chord with a lot of people and everyone wanted to help. We are delighted to be part of the big team Acivico donation’

Fellow team member Tracey Nugent said ‘we realised we had a big surplus of toiletries including everyday things such as shower gel, toothpaste and shampoo as well as some clothes and giftsets that we knew we would never get round to using. We took the opportunity to have a bit of a clear out. Myself and my sisters were really pleased to support this very worthy charity’

BASWA are happy to take donations of a wide range of new and unused items; anything is useful. The charity have many contacts so donations best used elsewhere will be cascaded to one of their partner charities.
