Acivico Clerk of Works service supports a quality finish at Keele University

Works at the prestigious new Central Sciences Laboratories, Keele University are now complete.  The new building provides the University with additional world-class facilities and underpins the university’s ambitious growth plans in science teaching and research. The £34m investment provides 5,300m2 of modern, co-located science laboratories and will greatly enhance the teaching provision and develop the next generation of highly employable science graduates.

The project is a key part of a £42m investment in the University’s Faculty of Natural Science facilities and forms the largest single investment in learning and teaching in the University’s history. The new build development spans four floors and offers "state of the art" teaching laboratories, IT provision and student social learning space.

The facilities are complemented by a four storey atrium, providing natural light into key areas, as well as providing an air plenum to the mix of both wet and dry laboratory spaces. The Acivico Clerk of Works team worked closely with GF Tomlinson, the appointed contractor throughout the construction.

Chris Hall, Deputy CEO at Acivico said; “We are delighted with the result of this fantastic facility which also marks the latest project completed by our Clerk of Works team, within the higher education sector. This is also our second successfully completed project for Keele University, having completed the £23m Barnes Student Residences in 2017. We are thrilled to have been invited back to by the University to support such a world class teaching and research facility”.
