Dispute Management

Introduction

As managing agent for Birmingham City Council's Construction Frameworks known as the Construction West Midlands Framework (CWM) and the Highways and Infrastructure Works Framework (HIWF) we have an ethos based on a mutual and collaborative relationship with our contractors. This minimises conflict and disputes, however if a dispute does arise then Acivico can support in offering clear, unbiased, expert advice and testimony to help settle disputes to the satisfaction of all concerned. We do this through alternative dispute resolution techniques as well as formal routes such as adjudication. By working closely with the design team we are able to anticipate, prevent or minimise programme and cost overruns through the various construction stages of a project which is an enormous benefit to our clients.

What Acivico Offer

Disputes can cause business disruption, delay or reputational damage; therefore prevention is always better than cure. Our highly experienced QS team act quickly to help clients avoid long and costly resolution. Utilising a range of construction contracts such as the NEC 3 Form of Contract, our QS team offer expert procurement advice; we prepare a neutral evaluation that gives an objective analysis of the problem, and clear direction on how to resolve it. We specialise in exploring issues around time delay, mounting costs, financial risk and procurement, so clients are able to make informed commercial decisions.
