Primary Focus

Richard is currently working on an extensive portfolio of education projects including a number of prestigious projects for Birmingham University and several new schools. He is also working on the re-development of the former Rover site at Longbridge and various health care and commercial projects.

Relevant Experience

Richard has over 30 years’ experience in the Building Industry and is fully qualified both as an architect and as a Building Consultancy Surveyor. He joined Birmingham Building Consultancy in 1995 and has subsequently built up a broad range of experience and expertise. His architectural background gives him valuable understanding of the need to integrate building regulation requirements in an elegant and practical way. He also has considerable fire engineering experience.

Some of Richard’s recent projects include: The University of Birmingham School, Chamberlain Hall student tower, 50 m pool and Sports Facility at Birmingham University, Birmingham University New Library, Rolls Royce Research Facility Ansty Park, Midlands Arts Centre redevelopment at Cannon Hill Park, New Main stand at Warwickshire County Cricket Club, Outpatients Department Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Bournville Extracare and Longbridge Town Centre redevelopment.

Away from the Office

Richard is an active member of his local church and keeps fit with various sports including tennis, squash, running and swimming. He also enjoys hill walking with family, friends and colleagues.
