Approved Inspector Services

Acivico (Building Consultancy) Ltd  provides a professional and competitive building control service to our clients. We  continue to hold the relevant insurances to provide building control services via the following options:

a) Locally for Birmingham City Council provided by our LABC service for the whole range of buildings in the Commercial and Domestic sector; and

b) Nationally in England and Wales using the LABC Partnership Scheme

Until recently, Acivico also offered services as an Approved Inspector throughout England but we have had to suspend this part of our service.  All approved inspectors are required to hold Professional Indemnity Insurance to operate and the insurance scheme for Approved Inspectors is set out by the Ministry for Housing and Local Government. Out of the two insurers that provided this insurance, our existing insurer withdrew from the market. This required us to approach the only remaining provider of insurance and although we have a zero claims history and have recently renewed our operating license for a further five years until 2024, insurance renewal has not been granted at this stage.  Our services within Birmingham have not been impacted by this issue and we can still continue to provide a service nationally in England and Wales, using the LABC Partnership Scheme.

If you have used our approved inspector service and wish to receive further information and advice please call us on T: 0121 464 0937.

We will be able to assess your individual needs and provide you with specific guidance on how we can still provide you with an excellent building control service.
