Invasive Plants

Invasive Plants

It is illegal to plant or allow the spread of plant species listed on Schedule 9 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act (1981) as is the dumping of unwanted plants and inappropriate disposal of soil contaminated with Schedule 9 plant species.

If you are unsure if your site is affected Acivico Site Investigation & Surveys can arrange for an initial inspection of your site to confirm presence/ absence of invasive weeds’ such as Japanese Knotweed, Himalayan Balsam and Giant Hogweed.

When there is a positive identification and if these plants are likely to be disturbed by your development the appropriate removal techniques need to be employed. Acivico Site Investigation & Surveys work with companies, approved by The Invasive Non-Native Specialists Association (INNSA), to control and eradicate invasive non-native species in the UK.

If you need to establish if your site is affected by invasive plants, or if you have a problem which needs eradicating, Acivico Site Investigation & Surveys can help.
